Special appreciation for those who attended DPVA’s Awards Ceremony, and especially to those who contributed towards our event through their donations. Our volunteers and staff were greatly impressed by the expression of appreciation and support from so many businesses. Our event was a success and enjoyed by a record number of members in attendance. Thank you all for contributing to our efforts in serving our communities. We celebrated our 70th Year (Cake was donated by Rosauer's) by holding our ceremony in the new Deer Park Community Center located in the new fire station. Barnes and Noble started the gift basket concept by donating books and other items that formed themes for the gift baskets. Contributions from Bath and Body Works, Trader Joe’s and the Sportsman's Warehouse marked the third year in a row they have supported our event. Williams and Sonoma, and many other stores and restaurants, graciously added items, coupons or product to enhance the baskets. Sew-Into-Quilts donated a special EMS quilt for drawing in support of our volunteers, which EMT Nico Cunanan won at the end of the event. Members, spouses and staff helped prepare the taco bar and prepare the venue. A record attendance enjoyed the Awards Ceremony and Trivia Game that followed. Congratulations to Lauren Anderson-Paramedic of the Year, Trevor Haley-EMT of the Year (pictured), Mark Cochran-Advanced EMT of the Year, Caitlin MacFarlane-FTO of the Year and Jeff Olson-Director's Award.
